We're back from vacation! The meeting of the West Coast dogs with the East Coast dogs went well - a few snarls here and there but a lot of laughs - more on that to come. For now I'm trying to catch up on things, including organizing photos from the trip. I'll leave you with the "happy to be on vacay" dog faces of Molly and Ben.

Life like a dog
In just 2 short days I will be cavorting in the countryside with dogs. Meadows, deep wooded trails, creeks, babbling brooks, rolling hills, ahhh yes!
It will be great to see my sister and her husband, who trekked all the way from Sacramento for this long-awaited meetup... of the dogs. Their two plus my two. Very different dogs (but also very similar in personalities if that is possible). East, west. Young, seasoned. Rambunctious, reserved. Early to rise, late to bed. Anxious, calm.
I find it easy to relax on vaca, especially in surroundings like this. With the dogs so happy and wide-eyed and bushy tailed. Living in the moment. No schedule to follow, well, except for dog mealtimes, which Molly & Ben would never let me forget. So I guess you can say I will follow the dogs again on this one. Which trail to take, which bend to explore, how long to stay at their favorite swimming hole. When to nap. Let them lead the way.
